No. 1 - Mr B
Mr B was a child who got knowcked down by a car and suffered a serious brain injury. Liability was disputed by the insurers of the driver of the car as the child ran into the path of the car claiming the driver was given no opportunity to stop and avoiad the collision. We managed to prove the accident was partly the driver's fault for failing to observe and heed children who had run into the road prior to our client causing other vehicles to skid. The Claimant received an award of £350,000.00 which will go a long wasy to securing their future housing needs. No.2 - Mr. S Mr. S consulted us days before the three year limitation cut off applied. We acted quickly to take his instructions and commenced Court proceedings within the three year limitation period to avoid his case being barred. He suffered a heavy lifting injury at work and there was no Accident Book entry or Medical Records contemporaneous with the accident. Specialist medical evidence was obtained to support his case from a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and a Radiologist assisted with MRI Scans. His case was defended by his employers who denied both that the accident had happened and that he had suffered an injury. The first offer received in settlement was £1,000.00. A week before his Trial his claim settled and he received £25,000 compensation. No. 3 - Mrs. Y
Mrs. Y injured her back when lifting a patient and was medically retired from her employment. She was able to work on lighter duties and her working capability was restricted. Liability was admitted in her case but the extent of the injury and the amount of her loss of earnings was contested. Her case was listed for Trial The first offer of £25,326.00 was rejected and her case settled for £102,000.00 No. 4 - Mrs. C
Mrs. C was an elderly lady who lived in rented accommodation. Her landlords failed to carry out repairs to the flagstones giving access to her property. She tripped on a protruding flagstone and suffered a severe shoulder injury. Liability was accepted in her case and she received an Out of Court settlement of £8,880.90 We have offices at 73 Church Street, Lancaster, LA1 1ET and 35a Stricklandgate, Kendal, Cumbria LA9 4LT.
